Can I communicate with my provider through Iris?

Yes, you can communicate with participating physicians by clicking Get Medical Advice from the menu and choosing your participating physician. Iris is not an e-mail system, and we do not recommend sending any confidential information through standard Internet e-mail. When you activate your personal Iris account, you will be asked to provide your e-mail address so that you can receive an e-mail notification to log on to your secure Iris account whenever new information has been made available. Any confidential patient information transmitted from your health care team will be located in secure messages that you will see only after you have logged into your secure Iris account.

Can I view a family member's health record in Iris?

Yes, you can. This is called Proxy access and allows a parent (or guardian) to log into their personal Iris account, and then connect to information regarding their family member. Complete a Proxy Consent Form and return it to one of our medical facilities to request access to this convenient service.

Can I ask questions regarding a family member from my Iris account?

The way to view a family memberís record in Iris is through Proxy access. To gain Proxy access, contact your providerís office for instructions. Proxy requests must be made in person at your participating providerís office.

Each person controls their password, and the account cannot be accessed without that password. Futher, Iris uses the latest 128-bit SSL encryption technology with no caching to automatically encrypt your session with Iris. I was logged off of Iris, what happened?

We aim to protect your privacy and security of your information. While logged into Iris, if your keyboard remains idle for 15 minutes or more, you will be automatically logged out of Iris. We recommend that you log out of your Iris session if you need to leave your computer for even a short period of time.

Do I need any special computer equipment or software to use Iris?

My activation code does not work, what should I do?

For your security, your activation code expires after 30 days and is no longer valid after the first time you use it. If you still have problems, e-mail us at either Iris.him@hattiesburgclinic.com or Irishelp@forrestgeneral.com. Or, you can call 1-601-579-5432.

Is my activation code my user ID?

No, your activation code is not your Iris ID or password. You will use this code only once to log into Iris for the first time. (The code will expire after you have used it or after 30 days). When you log into Iris the first time, you will then be asked to create your own unique Iris ID and password.
