What is this medicine used for?

The gel form of this medicine is put on the skin near the rectum or genitals to treat warts.

The solution form of this medicine is put on the skin near the genitals to treat warts. The solution form of this medicine is NOT for use near the rectum.

This medicine may be used to treat other conditions as determined by your healthcare provider.

What should my healthcare provider know before I take this medicine?

Before taking this medicine, tell your healthcare provider if you have ever had:

• An allergic reaction to any medicine
• Skin cancer

Females of childbearing age: Talk with your healthcare provider if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant. It is not known whether this medicine will harm an unborn baby. Do not breast-feed while taking this medicine without your healthcare provider's approval.

How do I use it?

Check the label on the medicine for directions about your specific dose. Follow your provider's instructions for using this medicine. Do not use more or use it more often than prescribed.

Check with your healthcare provider before using this medicine in children under age 18.

This medicine should only be used on the outside skin. Do not use it to treat warts that are inside the rectum, vagina, or penis.

Carefully read the instructions provided with the medicine package for proper use of this medicine. Wash your hands before and after using this medicine. Be careful to put the medicine only on the warts and not on the skin around the warts. Allow the skin where you put the medicine to dry before it comes in contact with normal, untreated skin. Do not use this medicine on broken skin or open wounds.

Do not use this medicine to treat warts on any other part of the body. Keep this medicine away from your eyes. If you get the medicine in your eyes, flush with plenty of water and contact your healthcare provider.

The gel form of this medicine is flammable. Do not use the gel near an open flame or while smoking.

What if I miss a dose?

If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember unless it is almost time for the next scheduled dose. In that case, skip the missed dose and take the next one as directed. Do not take double doses. If you are not sure of what to do if you miss a dose, or if you miss more than one dose, contact your healthcare provider.

What if I overdose?

If you or anyone else has intentionally taken too much of this medicine, call 911 or go to the emergency room right away. If you pass out, have seizures, weakness or confusion, or have trouble breathing, call 911. If you think that you or anyone else may have taken too much of this medicine, call the poison control center. Do this even if there are no signs of discomfort or poisoning. The poison control center number is 800-222-1222.

Symptoms of an acute overdose may include: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, fever, numbness, tingling, confusion, fainting, fast breathing, seizures.

What should I watch out for?

While some mild to moderate irritation is normal with the use of this medicine, report any bleeding or severe irritation, burning, itching, or swelling to your healthcare provider right away.

Do not have sexual contact on the days you are using this medicine.

Do not give this medicine to others who may seem to have a similar problem. This medicine does not protect against warts caused by sexually transmitted diseases. Warts near the genitals or rectum are contagious. You can give them to or get them from your sexual partner. Talk with your healthcare provider about this.

If your condition does not improve in 4 weeks, or if it gets worse, contact your healthcare provider. If the treated warts go away, but come back, contact your healthcare provider.

If you need emergency care, surgery, lab tests, or dental work, tell the healthcare provider or dentist you are using this medicine.

What are the possible side effects?

Along with its needed effects, your medicine may cause some unwanted side effects. Some side effects may be very serious. Some side effects may go away as your body adjusts to the medicine. Tell your healthcare provider if you have any side effects that continue or get worse.

Life-threatening (Report these to your healthcare provider right away. If you cannot reach your healthcare provider right away, get emergency medical care or call 911 for help.): Allergic reaction (hives; itching; rash; trouble breathing; chest pain or tightness in your chest; swelling of your lips, tongue, and throat).

Serious (Report these to your healthcare provider right away.): Unusual bruising or bleeding, severe skin irritation (severe rash, burning, stinging, tingling, swelling or itching), severe pain, ulcers or blisters.

Other: Mild to moderate skin irritation (rash, flaking, itching, burning, swelling, scabbing at the spot where the medicine is applied), headache.

List all the prescription medicines, nonprescription medicines, supplements, natural remedies, and vitamins that you take. How should I store this medicine?

Store this medicine at room temperature. Keep the container tightly closed. Protect it from heat, high humidity, and bright light. Keep the gel away from heat and open flames. Do not let it freeze.
